PostHeaderIcon Cabin Fever (and Our Toddler Playing on the Ice)

  Written By: Melainie

Winter time means cold weather and with that brings cabin fever. So far, we have been blessed with a very mild winter up here in the Alaskan arctic. One day we even had the temperature go above freezing! Whenever I chat with one of the local Inupiat natives, they say the weather feels like springtime.

PostHeaderIcon Sleepy Toddler Video

sleeping toddlerToddlers seem to have only two modes; either you can’t keep up with them or you can’t keep they awake. There is something about seeing a sleeping child that makes everyone smile- toddlers and babies look so precious when they are sleeping. I love to watch Anneliese sleep but watching her try to stay awake can be fun too. I think this video of my toddler trying to stay awake while eating is hilarious.

PostHeaderIcon My Adorable Dancing Toddler (Video)

Anneliese loves dancing, especially when the hokey pokey song is playing. We have a Sesame Street DVD that plays the Hokey Pokey and she really gets into it sometimes. She is so adorable, I just had to share this.

P.S. My house is a mess because Anneliese loves to throw her toys everywhere. So, this is pretty much how our living room looks most of the time…

PostHeaderIcon My Glowing Facial with the Personal Microderm

home facial kitWhat stay-at-home mama has the cash or time to go to the spa for a professional facial? I will definitely never do that, but I do have 15 minutes during my day to do it myself. Also, the price tag for my very own PMD personal microdermabrasion kit is much better than the one-time-only treatment cost at the spa.

At first glance this seems like something an older person would need, not for the 25 year old mom. Actually, I have learned that microdermabrasion does a lot more than erase fine lines and wrinkles. It also evens skin tone, buffs away blemishes, scars, acne, even mild burn marks, and helps diminish the skin’s imperfections at the Stratum Corneum layer of skin. This is something no cream or moisturizer could ever do, because it is deep down where only a dermabrasion treatment can reach.

Just watch how quick and easy it was for me to give myself an at-home microdermabrasion treatment. (Keep in mind: I did watch the 5 minute instructional DVD that came in the kit before trying the PMD for myself.)

Sometimes a woman just needs to pamper herself and do something that makes her feel extra beautiful. I had some acne and chicken pox scars that, although not very visible, have always bothered me. I was really excited about trying this product and improving my complexion. I can’t wait to see the results after a few more treatments.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, you can read more about the PMD and purchase your own at PersonalMicroderm.com or check out their Facebook page.

PostHeaderIcon Monkey See, Monkey Do: Copy Kids DVD Giveaway

copy kids dvd giveaway

Several months ago, I received an email from Cai Dixon, a very friendly mother who came up with the idea of Copy Kids, asking if I would be interesting in reviewing their ”Copy Kids Eats Fruits and Vegetables“ DVD once it was released. This sounded very interesting to me and I have been waiting with anticipation for the release (read about Copy Kids in the media). Well, it came in the mail last week and I have been playing it for Anneliese almost every day since then.

Anneliese is ready to watch Copy Kids in her big girl chair.

toddler eating vegetablesI have to admit, I was a little skeptical as to how well it would work on my baby because she can be pretty stubborn. The concept is pretty simple though- monkey see, monkey do. I am shameless to the fact that I like to brainwash my child, so this is right up my alley. But, is it really so easy to just show your baby that other children are enjoying their vegetables, and your child will enjoy them too? Well, Anneliese answered that question for me.

I was surprised to see the excitement she had about eating a raw bell pepper just because she saw the children on Copy Kids having a grand time eating them. We went to the grocery store the other day and I let her pick out her own bell pepper, then when we got home she went over to her television. I played the Copy Kids DVD and she immediately started munching her bell pepper along with the children on the DVD.

I started to laugh because I was so amazed that she took to it so quickly. As you may remember, I have a goal to get my family eating more fruits and vegetables, so this was a big encouragement to me. I love the ”Copy Kids Eats Fruits and Vegetables” DVD and think every parent needs to show it to their children.

Where to buy it: You can get the DVD right now at Copy-Kids.com with free shipping in the U.S. By the way, this DVD would also make a great gift for a friend or family member. (In the meantime you can check out their YouTube videos and see how well your children enjoy watching other kids eat fruits and veggies.)
